The Angkor Archaeological Park just north of Siem Reap in Cambodia is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and contains the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire from the 9th to the 15th century on an area of more than 400km2. In the Angkor Archaeological Park the most famous temples and ruins are Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom with the Bayon Temple but there are dozens of other ancient ruins to explore.
